Fresh: Wonder Woman is a cut above nearly all the superhero movies that have been trotted out over the past few summers. – Stephanie Zacharek, TIME Magazine, Jun 1, 2017

Fresh: “Wonder Woman” is a superhero movie, and it fulfills the heroic and mythic demands of that genre, but it’s also an entry in the genre of wisdom literature that shares hard-won insights and long-pondered paradoxes of the past with a sincere intimacy. – Richard Brody, New Yorker, Jun 12, 2017

Fresh: Wonder Woman embraces issues of female power and the need to turn from hate to love, war to peace in a mainstream delivery system. And the female lead is not solely a mother, sister, girlfriend or hooker, however gold her heart: wonder of wonders! – Thelma Adams, New York Observer, Jun 2, 2017

Fresh: Gadot … exudes superhero charisma, which powers her through a cliched last chapter. – Sara Stewart, New York Post, Jun 1, 2017

Wonder Woman

Well…um…there’s no reason to lie when it comes to Wonder Woman. This movie is PERFECT. Absolutely Perfect. It’s clear that WB and the DCEU are now on the path to greatness. Party Jenkins directs an amazing super heroine film and Gal Gadot surprises me by being the PUREST definition of Diana Prince, aka: Wonder Woman. This movie doesn’t make men look bad or foolish, and doesn’t even attempt to make Diana a Mary Sue. This is what Ghostbusters wished it could be when it comes to gender lead movies. This is by all means a GREAT MOVIE. It’s almost stupid how perfect this movie is compared to BvS, Man of Steel, and Suicide Squad. So please, I beg of you, watch it and then watch it again. 10/10. Plus, just to add o , Chris Pine is awesome and funny as hell.

DC has found it’s savior and it’s WONDERful! ✨

This movie is so awesome that I was compelled to write my first review. This movie delivers action, humor, and overall a well written plot, without the overly-long dialogue. I’ve been waiting all my life for this movie, and now I can die in peace. This movie is a breathe of fresh air and gets an A+++ from me. 👍🏻

terrible, boring, predictable

Ugh. There is some scam going on with these ratings on Rotten Tomato and elsewhere. There is no way this movie should be in the 90%. It was so long, so boring, not funny, the CGI looked cheap and the computer enhanced body movements were so fake. It was a basic formula story we have seen a thousand times but with terrible dialogue and no chemistry between actors, and most characters not even needed for the story line. The opening Amazon section was okay interesting, but the dialoge and accents of the Amazons was cheesy. The rest of the movie was a mess. And the “look” of the bad guy? Are you kidding!! I wanted to walk out as soon as they left the island, and both my friends fell asleep. Watch out for Reviews from now on–they are all corporate scams to trick us.

Dead Men Do Tell Tales

I thought this film was phenomenal. I’m not going to give away any spoilers, being some may not have watched it. This movie was action packed throughout. If you liked the first film, this film is very, very similar. We get a whole different perspective of pirates in this film. Jeff Nathanson did a fantastic job with the story. Johnny Depp’s portrayal of Captain Jack was fantastic. I’m a fanatic of these films. I’ve been watching them all my life. This one, to me, may just be the best one yet. Well done, Disney!

Better than Tomatometer

I thoroughly enjoyed “Dead Men Tell No Tales”, especially the second half of the movie. The plot is much better than expected, the acting is great and the cinematography is wonderfull. The one aspect which was a bit weak was the lack of planning by Jack Sparrow. In the first 3 movies, he had a brilliant mind and was extremely cunning. Even when it looked like he was in trouble, he always was the ‘man with the plan’- usually a shrewd counterintuitive plan. Jack was always one or two moves ahead in life’s chess match. In this 5th installment, Jack is mostly reacting to the circumstances, not driving them. The rest of the cast is superb- especially Barbossa, will Turner’s son, and the astronomer/horoligist! I hope the film does well financially because I would like to see a 6th movie!

Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales

Fans of the originals will recognize enough connections tissue to make mindful of the first trilogy, and average viewers will find more than enough to enjoy & make them glad they bought a ticket. The most important lesson from the new Pirates Of The Caribbean? Ghost sharks should have been added a long time ago.

Big Little Lies – Big Little Lies

Based on Liane Moriarty’s bestselling book, this subversive, darkly comedic drama series tells the tale of three mothers of first-graders whose seemingly perfect lives unravel to the point of murder. Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman and Shailene Woodley head up a stellar cast in this Monterey-set drama that begins with a suspicious homicide at an elementary-school fundraiser. Though the victim and the perpetrator initially remain a mystery, it appears that the murder was spawned by rivalries and secrets surrounding the trio of young moms. Alexander Skarsgard, Laura Dern, Adam Scott, Zoe Kravitz, James Tupper and Jeffrey Nordling co-star.

So… I guess cable is finally obsolete. One nation under John Stewart, baby! I think the best thing about this show is that Mr. Stewart is actually invested in his topic. He jests, but it seems like he really cares about America. Wish the same could be said for politricktions…

What do you mean “fake news”??? JON FOR PRESIDENT!

Babe, you had me at hello. Thanks for presenting politics and politicians like the clowns they are. If it weren’t for Jon I’d never know what the hell was going on in politics – the “real news” is just too depressing (and biased) to watch – made for mindless sheep – (though I don’t mind being a part of Jon’s herd). Who’s fake?? The networks selling politicians crap as news or the Daily Show’s interpretation of the BS we’re sold everyday? (Such as Bush’s new brilliant discovery – we’re addicted to oil – duh!) Thank God for sarcasm! Jon’s impersonation of Bush is right on the money heh-heh. Bring on Colbert! This way I can catch-up at work…

FINALLY we get the greatest show EVER to hit comedy central (besides South Park, of course). Nothing could possibly stand up to the hilarity and awsomness of jon stewart. His interviews with his guests are always really good, and its not all jokes and “haha” all the time, theres actually quite a good deal of things you could learn from waching. I try to catch him every night, but the folks wont have it. BUY THE MULTIPASS, it will be the best decision you’ve made in a while. It may seem pricy, but its worth it. The Colbert Report is good too, but the Daily Show if better by leaps and bounds.

WARNING: Made for 16-year-old boys only.

I purchased this movie based on having read several reviews, which were all basically glowing: They said it was a fast-moving spy movie spoof with great actors. However, as it turns out, the reviewers were channeling their inner 16-year-old boy–with the emotional depth of piece of photocopy paper and the sophistication of a can of SpaghettiOs.

I started watching the movie thinking that with these reviews and all of these fine actors: Colin Firth (way too good for this movie), Mark Strong (who is a wickedly smart actor), Samuel L. Jackson (what is he not in?, Michael Caine (hasn’t he retired yet on all that Batman money?)–all fabulous actors, that the film would be good escapist fun:a tongue-in-cheek spy action thriller aimed at an adult audience.

What I got instead was scene after scene of wasted actors trapped in vapid, worse than cardboard cutout characters, in a story that appeared to go nowhere. Here I place the blame on the script and the director. Period. Putting up with the lisp on Jackson’s character was bad enough, but by the time it got to the exploding heads, it was just plain stupid. And the violence? Really? What for? If you look up “gratuitous violence” in a dictionary, it will read “Kingsman.”

And the final scene of a woman’s butt is just, well, for 16-year-old boys. If you’re over 16 years of age, don’t waste your time on this one–there are plenty of other fun, big budget spy spoof drama/comedies on the market that are aimed at adults.

All I can say is that the A-list actors who slummed it for this must have been paid very well. And I love movies. But this was a dog–with fleas. I’m surprised my head didn’t explode after painfully sitting through this adolescent pablum.

I didn’t sign up for that!

I really enjoyed the movie… and then at the end… it decided to turn from a classy English bada$$ movie to a shock humor vulgar movie.. Throughout the movie i thought “This would be fun to watch with my teenage sons.” Thank God I didn’t. IT WAS A CHEAP SHOT and I don’t appreciate it. Just left me feeling bad. Thanks for nothing.

So first off, don’t go into this movie expecting anything serious. This movie is supposed to be fun, ridiculous, all over the place, and pure badassery incarnate. This is basically a revival of the old Bond films, what with your gentlemen spies, awesome gadgets, and over the top yet exciting villains. And on top of that, you have characters you’ll actually care about. Really. Sure, you have your sad, character-developing parts sometimes, and there’s one scene that broke my heart (you’ll know once you see it), but this movie is meant to be tongue-in-cheek, over-the-top, laugh-out-loud fun. And the raunchy scene at the very end is sure to piss a few people off, as it didn’t feel completely necessary, but like I said earlier, take it with a grain of salt. This movie is loud, expertly filmed and choreographed, and Firth’s infamous church scene left me speechless for many reasons. I highly recommend this movie for a good laugh and a good, roaring time. Will definitely see this movie more than once!
